Astra hearing care has designed an online hearing test and speech test stimulation so that you could check if you have a potential hearing loss. The test consists of four parts – first part is a list of five questions that you should answer as a ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Please note that before the start of the second part of the test, you need to select if you are going to use ‘headphones’ or ‘speakers’ for hearing the test tones. PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU KEEP THE VOLUME OF THE COMPUTER TO 50% OF THE TOTAL VOLUME BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE TEST. Thereafter you need to do the audio calibration by clicking on the play button and you would hear a whooshing sound. Adjust the volume using (-) or (+) until you can hear the tone comfortably and then click ‘continue’. Again click on the play button and you would hear a whooshing sound. Adjust the volume using (-) or (+) until you can barely hear the tone and then click ‘continue’. Now the PURE TONE TEST would begin.
In the pure tone test, you would hear a tone, if you hear the tone, press ‘YES’ and if you don’t hear press ‘NO’. When you press 'YES' or ‘NO’ the test would move to the next frequency automatically. Please note that the tone would come ONLY ONCE and you need to be alert and listen.
The final test is the SPEECH TEST. in this test you would hear a word being spoken and you would have four options to select the spoken word on the computer screen. Once you click on the word that you think had been spoken, the screen moves to the next question. There are total ten words spoken.
At the end of the above tests you have the results. This hearing test simulator is for informational purposes and is not intended as a diagnostic evaluation. For a complete test and evaluation of your hearing, you should visit a qualified clinical audiologist.
