Including a banana in your everyday diet will not only improve your overall well-being but also your hearing. Bananas are easily available throughout the world. They are full of essential nutrients that are beneficial to health.

Called a superfood, they are a good source of vitamins like vitamin B6 and Vitamin C. They contain ample amounts of potassium too. Working in tandem with sodium helps lower blood pressure and improves heart health.

Bananas act like an electrolyte in the body. They help to maintain a healthy balance of fluids in the body and this aspect is important for hearing health, as fluids present in the inner ear are dependent upon an adequate supply of potassium. It is only here or the part of the ear that translates noises heard by us into electrical impulses. Later, the brain interprets them as sound.  It is said that as we age, the fluids in the inner ear become less, and slowly this affects our hearing health and ultimately results in loss of hearing.

If you want to add bananas to your morning diet, the fruit can be mixed with the morning porridge or added along with the pancake batter.

A bunch of other foods that are rich in potassium includes cucumber, mushroom, sweet potatoes, eggs, apricots, oranges, peas, coconut, watermelons, and avocados.

Magnesium

The five major minerals of the human body are calcium, phosphorus, sodium, magnesium, and potassium. Bananas have the unique property of being rich in potassium and magnesium.

Being rich in magnesium, the fruit helps to protect the delicate hair cells in the inner ear. Loud noises can damage these hair cells resulting in noise-related hearing loss.

Having bananas every day boosts magnesium levels and helps maintain nerve function. Magnesium also improves blood flow and a lack of it can cause oxygen deprivation. To protect ourselves from hearing loss due to a lack of magnesium-rich foods, we need to consume dark chocolate, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, nuts (cashews and almonds), whole grains, avocados, salmon, legumes, spinach, and bananas.

As the saying goes, you are what you eat. Different kinds of fruits are rich in different kinds of vitamins and minerals. So, eat the right kind of food, minerals, and vitamins to keep your body healthy and to enable all the organs to work efficiently.

If you want to improve your hearing, eat foods that would improve hearing (bananas), if you want to improve your sight, eat foods that would improve sight (carrots and vitamin-B-rich food). Eating right benefits your overall health.
